Communication along the supply chain

REACH introduces an obligation to exchange information between manufacturer / importer of a substance, and the downstream users, for identification of uses and exposures to humans and the environment. The manufacturer / importer then has to decide acceptable concentration limits and adequate risk management measures for each substance. Guidance documents for communication (RIP 3.2) are being developed by the commission, but are not finished yet. It is therefore sensible to delay the start of supply chain communication until questionnaires are correctly framed.

Proceeding in the ECKA Granules Group

A central project team has been established to develop adequate implementation solutions for meeting the comprehensive requirements of REACH. Each company within the ECKA Granules Group will take all necessary steps to comply with REACH duties in good time. In this regard we will, as soon as the relevant guidance documents (RIP 3.2) are available, start the required communication along the supply chain for exchange of information about uses and exposures. We therefore would like to ask our customers also to wait for the guidance documents (RIP 3.2) and thus avoid the sending of invalid questionnaires.
